Redefining the way we care for seniors with compassion and community.
At St. Vincent’s Heather, we’re reimagining seniors care to prioritize their well-being, dignity and cultural sensitivity through a social-relational model of care called Home for Us, which centers on residents and their families, not just tasks.
Home for Us guides the care your loved one receives. The following three principles form the bases for this model of care:
- Emotional connections matter most
- Residents direct each moment
- Home is not a place, it’s a feeling
These overarching principles aim to provide seniors and residents with a living environment that encourages participation in everyday activities, such as cooking and making social connections. Ultimately, Home for Us hopes to build a sense of safety and belonging.
This 13-storey home will have 20 households, each designed for 12 residents. Each resident will have a single-bed room with a wheelchair-accessible ensuite (private bathroom). It’s not just a care facility; it’s a community where every resident enjoys the comfort of a living room, dining room and activity space just like home.
We’re creating a vibrant, caring community where seniors can thrive and families and loved ones can be part of every precious moment.
Stay tuned for updates as we pave the way for a brighter, more compassionate future in seniors care.
